Weather disaster questions.

In preparation for our visit from the meteorologist on Friday, the children shared their questions for show and tell today. They wrote them out and we have put them up for everyone to read. If the children find an answer to a question in a book or on the internet they can write up the answer on a post-it-note and put it on the question.

Amazing Aimee

Congratulations to Aimee who received the Principals certificate at full school assembly. Well done Aimee, you are a star!

PE

This week we used the skipping ropes to help us to practise our jumping skills, just like boxers!

GAFE accounts

The children are becoming more confident about logging into their GAFE accounts. We used the laptops and wrote about our memories of being in R5.

Buddy Class

A great way to finish the week. After sharing our plays and getting to hear a few of the Y6 children's graduation speeches, we headed out side for a game of Duck Duck Goose. It was great to see the big kids looking after the younger ones.

Plays

The children performed their plays to our buddy class. Some of them did really well with making their voices sound exciting and used lots of dramatic actions. We have some budding Thespians amongst us!

Special thanks to Jack, one of our Y6 buddies who stepped in at the last minute.

Junior cross country race

We made the most of the break in the weather and held our race today. It was a very close race, with Campbell and Jason sliding across the line in joint first closely followed by Riley in second and Liam in third place.
They received their prizes today and will get their certificates at Junior assembly on Friday.
The girls race was just as exciting, with Soleil crossing the line first, closely followed by Lauren in second place and Gemma in third place.
They will also get their certificates on Friday.

Plays

Some of the children have been practising and performing plays to the whole class. They have been encouraged to add in actions and use different voices for the characters. The audience then have to give them feedback and feed forward about what they have done well or what they could do differently next time.

Maths activities

At Maths time the children had three rotated activities to do.
1. Playing games on our R5 google site to help them to learn their basic number facts.

2. Making repeating patterns using the beads and peg boards

3. Playing a number bonds game - finding which 2 numbers make 10. If you can see 3 cubes, how many are hidden?
