Monster Mash Disco

The children looked fabulous and had a great time at the Monster Mash disco.
Too pretty to be scary
Can you guess who the skeleton pirate is?
I wouldn't like to meet these scary guys on a dark night!
Can you guess who it is?

Planting Room 5's garden

The children had great fun gardening today. We have lots of keen gardeners in room 5.
We had to decide where to plant all the plants.
We had some tomato plants donated by Palmers.
We also had lots of pizza thyme.
We added some potting mix to improve the quality of the soil.
We had to put the good soil around the plants to help them to grow.
Our garden needed lots of water. We are looking forward to watching our garden grow. Special thanks to Lynsey and Sarah, our gardening experts.

Experiment

We are carrying out an experiment to find out about a plants needs.
We have planted seeds in 5 jars.

One has no soil, one no water, one no light, one no heat and one has everything a plant needs.

We have made predictions about what we think will happen to them.

Anna from Palmers

Anna from Paers came to talk to the Y2 children about gardening as part of our topic work.
She showed us different types of plants.

We learnt about the different types of plants.

We got to touch them.
Some leaves were soft and some were spiky.
We learnt lots of plant facts. Kauri trees can grow over 30m tall.

Football Kidz

Football kids came to school today to do some rugby skills with us.
It started to rain so we carried on playing games in the hall.

It was great fun. Football kids are running rugby sessions on Fridays after school.
